Refrain

Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2026

Refrain is published by Toolbelt. By installing and using Refrain, you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard End User License Agreement, which governs the iOS app itself.

The app, in plain language

Refrain is a personal focus timer with an optional app-blocking feature (via Apple's ScreenTime API). It runs on your iPhone. It is not a medical, mental-health, or addiction-treatment tool. You're responsible for the content you save and the choices you make.

Pricing

Refrain is free to download and use for the basic timer, one block rule, and one hour per day of focus.

Refrain Pro ($9.99 one-time) unlocks unlimited daily focus, unlimited block rules, the intent journal, full history, weekly reports, and custom durations. Payment is processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. It is a one-time non-consumable purchase — there is no auto-renewal and no subscription.
